A prudent rider requires efficiency as well as a reasonable scan view and must understand and learn the correct cutting techniques. Cutting is required in the following circumstances
- When the vehicle in front moves too slowly
- When the vehicle in front changes course
- When trailing a vehicle in front that may cause an accident
1. Check in front
- Practice the 12-second rule
- Make foresight forward.
- It takes at least 10 seconds to get past the clipped vehicle
2. Checking in the back
- No other vehicles trying to overtake
- Look at the side mirror and look back for a moment
3. Signaling to the right
Signals to move to the right for at least 3 seconds. At the same time the 12-second rule continues to be practiced
4. Move to the right
Make sure to have enough space and be safe before moving to the right
5. Speeding vehicles
When in the overtaking lane need to control and cut carefully. Riders must also overtake at the permitted speed and comply with the prescribed speed limit.
6. Communication
Crossing (blind spot) is advised to sound the horn or signal by using a traffic light as a sign of communication is cutting
7. Gives a signal to the left
- Signal to the left for at least three seconds.
- Use a safe distance expectation before moving to the left
9. Move to the left
- Make sure to have enough space to be in front of the clipped vehicle.
- Looking at the vehicle cut through the side mirrors.
10. Connecting speed
- Be in the right lane taking into account the 2-second rule
- 12-second rule for forward view
